2nd Safest City in the Nation? Cary NC of course…

Living in Cary NC

Cary NC was named 2nd Safest City by Population in the United States!!

The Town of Cary and its residents have much to be proud of!

Just another one of the many reasons why Cary home owners love living in Cary NC; it has been named the second safest city in the US among municipalities with populations of 100,000 to 499,999 by CQ Press, the publisher of the annual report:  City Crime Rankings 2010-2011:  Crime in Metropolitan America.

Cary NC Safest City

Interested in buying a home in Cary, NC Cary has ranked 12 consecutive years on the list of safest cities.  Last year Cary was in 5th place..  The report also highlights Cary as both the safest city in NC and the 8th safest city in the nation when compared with EVERY municipality of ANY size.

Living in Cary NC you’ll also enjoy the diversity of Cary subdivisions, great recreation opportunities and being a part of the nationally recognized Wake County School Information.

The article, written by the CaryCitizen, does a great job crediting the high safety ranking to the strong measures taken by the Cary Police Department; as well as the implementation of outreach programs such as Stranger Danger, National Night Out and School’s In/Speed’s Out.

Come enjoy living in one of the safest cities in the United States…  Cary, NC!  Let’s chat…

Move over New York, Chicago and LA – just look at who’s making headlines!!

Raleigh NC

Move over New York, Chicago and LA – here we come!

Raleigh has it in the bag!  Portfolio.com just named us the “#1 major metropolitan market that offers the best quality of life in the United States”.

Thank you Portfolio.com and Bizjournal!!

We’ve done it again!

what made Raleigh make the top list?

So just how was the ranking done?  They took 67 of the biggest metropolitan areas with populations of 750,000 or more and compared them in 20 statistical categories.  The areas considered were a healthy economical climate, housing and real estate, the educational systems, cost of living, and light traffic!

The Research Triangle Park (or RTP as it’s often referred to as) helped with all the high-tech industries that have their business there. There are almost 40 tech companies the likes of IBM Corporation, Cisco, Ericsson, Google Earth, and Nortel just to name a few in.  Then the 3 major high-profile universities, North Carolina State, UNC, and Duke added more weight to Raleigh as an educational center.

Then there’s our Raleigh Real Estate!
There isn’t another major market that is expanding and growing as rapidly as the Triangle.  Our population has increased by 37% since 2000.  It’s not rocket science to figure that with so many people moving to the Triangle (which includes Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Morrisville, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest and more) that homes are going to be in demand.  Our market reports prove that even though we didn’t escape all of the real estate down draft, we are perfectly poised for an immediate rebound.

So if you are one of the lucky ones heading this way ~ call us.  We’ll love making your Raleigh Real Estate connections for you!

Forbes has ranked Raleigh NC the 3rd best place in the country for business and careers!

Forbes has ranked Raleigh NC the 3rd best place in the country for business and careers!  Forbes rated 200 large metropolitan areas on things like the cost of doing business, the percentage of the population with higher levels of learning and degrees (we’ve got a lot of smart people living here!), and four other growth factors.

We’re happy to have made the list this year!

It’s been a tough year all the way across the country hasnt’ it?  But here in the Triangle we’re seeing many indications that we’re on the move upward…

This year we lost some ranking and didn’t score higher because the Raleigh/Cary area saw a .3% drop in our average income and they say we have a higher cost of living.

But the other top two spots were mid-western areas and I don’t know about you but I sure don’t mind paying a bit more to be living in the Carolina’s!

Here’s the rest of how Raleigh stood in the rankings on Forbes.com.
  • Cost of Doing Business: 22
  • Economic Growth Projected: 24
  • Educational Attainment: 12
  • Income Growth: 179
  • Job Growth Projected: 5
  • Net Migration: 3

So if you’re considering a move to the Triangle ~ let’s chatThere’s a reason for all these accolades!!

Where’s one of the best places for young professionals? Raleigh NC!!

Raleigh NC was just named #3 in the nation for young adults wanting to find their place in this recessionary economy Portfolio.com announced.  We trail behind Austin TX, and Washington DC.

I don’t know about you, but if I were just looking to establish myself and found a place with tremendous professional growth possibilities, very reasonable home prices, and an area that’s poised beautifully for substantial growth over the next few decades – I’d jump on it in a heartbeat…

Welcome to the Triangle!  An area that has been garnering accolades en mass over the years.  It’s no wonder as Raleigh is the fastest-growing major metro in the nation. The population of the Raleigh area is increasing by 3.9 percent per year. That’s more than triple the pace for the typical market of 1.2 percent.

This news comes on the heels that NC employers posted more than 1,700 IT job openings in February.  That’s most since back in November 2008 according to NC Technology Association.  The report went on to say the demand is coming from the high tech, financial and IT services sectors.  You can download the full NC IT workforce market analysis to read more.

Raleigh makes Barbara Corcoran list at #2

The Today Show had Barbara Corcoran discuss where she sees the most likely rebound in the real estate market and why.  Pretty important question these days on everyone’s mind.  According to Barbara there are 8 characteristics that a city must have in order to rank high;

  1. Job growth (relates to strong RE rebound) – with major players in 3 industries – technology, pharmaceutical, and telecommunications the Triangle job growth is secure for years to come.  Companies like IBM, Glaxo Smith Klein, and now Novartis moving in all help support our growth.
  2. A growing population – according to the Wake County web site between 79-98 people a day move into the Triangle!  And that number is projected to grow in the next few years.
  3. Great weather – who doesn’t love having brunch on the back deck in the middle of January?  We still have 4 season’s which is very enjoyable!  Which all adds to the natural beauty of Raleigh.
  4. 1st time buyers – because of the tremendous number of graduates and all the young professionals that have chosen to stay here after university or those moving here for great jobs, we have an abundance of 1st time home buyers.  And they just love that 1st time home buyers tax credit that they can use right now!
  5. no overbuilding of condos  or office spaces – there is a very healthy amount of building going on downtown Raleigh right now.
  6. Vital downtown – places where people can live without a car and just walk around – downtown Raleigh with the new convention center that opened last year is seeing a strong inner core revitalization.  But hurry – the awesome new condo’s are going fast!
  7. Well educated population – with 3 major universities around here and largest PHD population it’s no wonder we came out on top on this one!
  8. Large number of foreclosures early -well we really didn’t really have a crash – mainly because we never bubbled.  Our sustainable growth in the real estate market was largely due to the influx of people moving to our area, major corporations having their headquarters in the Triangle, and no real estate frenzy.

So just how did Raleigh do?  We ranked the #2 spot in the country!!  Where you can still find a 3 bedroom/2.5 bath for an average price of around $223K.  Couple that with all sorts of other accolades such as Forbes naming us the #4 spot in the country for job growth and it’s no wonder we love specializing in helping people relocate to the Raleigh area.

But that’s not all – as Barbara also mentioned it’s all about family and Raleigh is a very family friendly place to call home.  However you describe your family you’ll find this area teaming with all sorts of activities! Starting your life all over? Raleigh is the place to consider.

We’re here making connections for you!
